{"id":169767,"date":"2025-09-26T03:41:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T03:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/169767\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T03:41:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T03:41:08","slug":"womens-soccer-shares-points-with-utsa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/169767\/","title":{"rendered":"Women\u2019s Soccer Shares Points with UTSA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BIRMINGHAM\u00a0\u2013\u00a0UAB women&#8217;s soccer (3-2-6, 0-0-3) battled to a 1-1 draw with UTSA (6-2-3, 2-0-1) on Thursday night at PNC Field.<\/p>\n<p>After a scoreless first half, the Blazers broke through in the 53rd\u00a0minute when <a href=\"https:\/\/uabsports.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/brielle-rochester\/11282\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11282\" target=\"_blank\">Brielle Rochester<\/a>\u00a0netted her second goal of the season off an assist from <a href=\"https:\/\/uabsports.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/lauren-lucero\/11280\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11280\" target=\"_blank\">Lauren Lucero<\/a>.\u00a0The lead was short-lived, however, as UTSA responded 10 minutes later with Ava Jackson&#8217;s\u00a0equalizer, set up by Izzy Lane<\/p>\n<p>Both sides created chances down the stretch, but strong goalkeeping kept the match level. <a href=\"https:\/\/uabsports.com\/sports\/womens-soccer\/roster\/leah-parsons\/11419\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"11419\" target=\"_blank\">Leah Parsons<\/a>\u00a0recorded six saves for UAB, while UTSA&#8217;s\u00a0Jasmine Kessler\u00a0also finished with six.<\/p>\n<p>The teams were nearly even across the board \u2014 UAB held a 15-16 shot margin, led 10-6 in corners, and split possession almost evenly (51% UTSA, 49% UAB). Defensively, the Blazers kept their composure despite picking up one yellow card, while UTSA saw two players booked.<\/p>\n<p>Up next, the Blazers hit the road to Charlotte on Thursday, October 2.
