ELM GROVE, Wis. \u2013 Multiple Rebels advance in both singles and doubles on the first day of the ITA Milwaukee Tennis Classic.<\/p>\n
The tournament started with doubles play. Owen Wilkinson<\/a> and Ichino Horikawa<\/a> played first in the round of 32 against Martaa Chogsomjav and Margaret Jaraczewski from Kansas State. They won, 6-1, to earn Wilkinson’s first doubles victory of her college career. Doubles Singles

\nShortly after their victory, the pair faced Fatima Gutierrez and Ida Clement from Purdue in the round of 16. The duo lost, 6-3, but will continue playing this weekend in the back draw.

\nThe Rebels’ other duo, Brooklyn Olson<\/a> and Alic\u00e9 Soulie, had a first-round bye and did not compete in the round of 32. In the round of 16, they matched up against Ashley Matz and Sasha Sakura Stula, representing Florida Gulf Coast and DePaul.

\nOlson and Soulie defeated Matz and Stula, 6-4. The pair will face off against Allie Faulkner and Maria Luisa Oliveira of Miami (OH) on Friday in the quarterfinals.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0

\nFollowing doubles play, the Rebs moved on to singles play. Horikawa faced Allie Faulkner of Miami (OH) in the round of 64. Horikawa defeated Faulkner in a tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-3, 10-5. She will face Anali Kocevar of Minnesota on Friday in the round of 32.

\nOlson matched up against Martina Bovio of Lipscomb. Olson got a quick victory,
\nAs she defeated Lipscomb, 6-0, 6-3. Moving on to the round of 32, Olson will play Lilly Cvanciger of Arkansas State on Friday.

\nAlic\u00e9 Soulie had a first-round bye and did not participate in singles today. She will face off against Anna Grigoreva of Arkansas State in the round of 32.<\/p>\n
