{"id":171605,"date":"2025-09-26T22:44:03","date_gmt":"2025-09-26T22:44:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/171605\/"},"modified":"2025-09-26T22:44:03","modified_gmt":"2025-09-26T22:44:03","slug":"50-best-restaurants-in-north-america-3-in-ontario","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/171605\/","title":{"rendered":"50 best restaurants in North America: 3 in Ontario"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Three restaurants in Ontario are among the top 50 places to eat in North America, according to a new ranking. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">In the inaugural list, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theworlds50best.com\/northamerica\/en\/list\/1-50\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">North America\u2019s 50 Best Restaurants<\/a>, two restaurants in Toronto and one in the Niagara region \u2014 the latter of which cracked the top three \u2014 were mentioned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Restaurant Pearl Morissette, the only two-star Michelin restaurant in Ontario, was named the third-best restaurant in the continent for its hyper-local, farm-to-table menu. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe tasting menu-only experience showcases dishes like grilled West Coast geoduck with pickled spruce tips, Nubian goat with overwintered parsnips and blackened barley koji that acts as a chocolate ganache dupe,\u201d 50 Best says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Next up is the west-end Toronto restaurant, Quetzal, at 11. The upscale Mexican restaurant received its acclaim for its smoky dishes using Canadian ingredients \u2014 something the <a href=\"https:\/\/guide.michelin.com\/ca\/en\/ontario\/toronto\/restaurant\/quetzal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michelin Guide also recognized,<\/a> awarding it with one star.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe restaurant\u2019s ambitious bar programme is a highlight too, spotlighting mezcal and tequila in imaginative cocktails along with thoughtful non-alcoholic options of reimagined Mexican classics,\u201d the list reads. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The last restaurant for Ontario comes in at 44 with mhel, a Korean-Japanese fusion restaurant. 50 Best applauds the Dufferin Grove restaurant for its seasonal small plates and its sake-dominant drink list.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The top two restaurants in North America, according to 50 Best, are New York\u2019s Atomix in first, for its 12-course tasting menu \u201cmasterpiece\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/montreal\/article\/quebec-restaurants-top-list-of-north-americas-best-places-to-eat\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.ctvnews.ca\/montreal\/article\/quebec-restaurants-top-list-of-north-americas-best-places-to-eat\/\">Montreal\u2019s Mon Lapin in second<\/a>, for its wine list and ever-changing menu. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Here are the top 50 restaurants in North America, according to 50 Best:<\/p>\n<p>Atomix, New York, N.Y.Mon Lapin, Montreal, Que.Restaurant Pearl Morissette, Jordan Station, Ont.Smyth, Chicago, Ill.Tani\u00e8re3, Quebec City, Que.Dakar NOLA, New Orleans, La.Kalaya, Philadelphia, Penn.Single Thread, Healdsburg, Calif.
