{"id":172855,"date":"2025-09-27T11:14:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T11:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/172855\/"},"modified":"2025-09-27T11:14:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T11:14:11","slug":"harris-dickinson-recalls-inappropriate-remarks-on-babygirl-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/172855\/","title":{"rendered":"Harris Dickinson Recalls &#8220;Inappropriate&#8221; Remarks On &#8216;Babygirl&#8217; Tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/harris-dickinson\/\">Harris Dickinson<\/a> is calling out a double standard when it comes to the media sexualizing actors in Hollywood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/babygirl\/\">Babygirl<\/a> star recently explained why he \u201cstruggled\u201d with the press tour for writer\/director <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/halina-reijn\/\">Halina Reijn<\/a>\u2018s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/a24\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">A24<\/a> erotic thriller, during which he heard \u201cdeeply inappropriate\u201d remarks from female fans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI think it\u2019s [become] OK to do this to male actors, weirdly, that\u2019s the problem,\u201d Dickinson said on the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rH8FijsEUTk&amp;list=PLU2P19sDJ0j8rpRlj8W4dedQcQacEb4d8&amp;index=1\">Happy Sad Confused<\/a> podcast. \u201cI think it becomes acceptable to do that to younger male actors, whereas if we\u2019re in a conversation [like] now, I get a lot of women say things to me that are deeply inappropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn Babygirl, <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/nicole-kidman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Nicole Kidman<\/a> stars as Romy, a high-powered CEO who puts her life\u2019s work on the line when she begins a torrid affair with her much younger intern Samuel (Dickinson).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDickinson recalled he was told \u201ccompletely unacceptable\u201d things during the film\u2019s press tour, to which he struggled with how to respond.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-lazy-image__img lrv-u-background-color-grey-lightest lrv-u-width-100p lrv-u-display-block lrv-u-height-auto\" src=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/wp-content\/themes\/pmc-deadline-2019\/assets\/public\/lazyload-fallback.jpg\" data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Screenshot-2025-01-05-at-19.04.48.png\" alt=\"Nicole Kidman\" data-lazy- data-lazy- height=\"540\" width=\"946\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tNicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson in \u2018Babygirl\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA24<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cYou\u2019re expected to just laugh it off, and I think that\u2019s why I struggled with that experience,\u201d he added. \u201cPeople could say, \u2018Well, you did a film that you knew was going to be somewhat erotic.\u2019 It\u2019s, like, yeah, but the film that we made and the approach that Halina [Reijn] spoke about, for me, was something way more unique. It wasn\u2019t a reductive thing in my mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDickinson continued, \u201cI guess you can\u2019t control the perception of it, and the way that people want to talk about it and the narrative.
