\n\tAlthough Ghostface\u2019s body count has gone through the roof over the years, one of the Scream<\/a> franchise\u2019s first victims had to help bring out his killer instinct.<\/p>\n

\n\tStuntman Lee Waddell, who donned the mask and cloak for the debut 1996 film in Kevin Williamson<\/a> and Wes Craven<\/a>\u2018s slasher franchise, recalled \u201chow impactful\u201d it was working with Henry Winkler<\/a> as the doomed Principal Arthur Himbry.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI loved my time with Henry Winkler. Man, what a class act,\u201d said Waddell at a recent GalaxyCon Q&A<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s the only time out of my career at that point, and I\u2019ve never done it since, he was the only guy that I ever fanboyed out on. He got on set and, you know, I grew up on Happy Days.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe stunt performer said he would \u201cjust geek out\u201d on the actor. \u201cI\u2019m supposed to stab him and I was so just fanboyed out that I wouldn\u2019t give him the energy to react accordingly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tWinkler taught him a trick that will stay with him \u201cfor the rest of my career\u201d after Waddell was taking too many takes to finish the scene. \u201cI\u2019m just not giving him what he needs,\u201d he said, recounting that Winkler took him behind the door where the killer was supposed to pop out.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c[He was] literally hitting me in the shoulder,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd he starts kinda screwing with me, and I\u2019m like, \u2018What are you doing?\u2019 Well, what he did was he went into the Himbry character, right, as the principal that everybody despised.<\/p>\n

\n\tWaddell continued, \u201cAnd he starts effing with me. And he says, \u2018I\u2019m gonna suspend you\u2019 \u2026 and he\u2019s getting in my face. And I realize what he\u2019s doing, and in that moment, I clicked into Ghostface, and I got pissed. Righteously pissed. I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, I get it.\u2019 I snapped in and he starts screwing with me like this. I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, I am going to gut you like a fish.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI give him that burst of energy to get him to react. And it was a great take, and that\u2019s what you guys see on the final cut,\u201d noted Waddell.<\/p>\n
