Police are searching for three suspects who are wanted in connection with an early morning home invasion in Hamilton.<\/p>\n
The incident happened at a residence in the city\u2019s Gibson neighbourhood, near Birch Avenue and Wilson Street.<\/p>\n
Hamilton Police Service say on Saturday at about 2:30 a.m. the home\u2019s residents were awoken by the sound of a smashed door.<\/p>\n
They say three unknown male suspects \u201cstormed into the bedroom demanding money.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of the suspects then allegedly brandished a handgun and demanded money, while the other two rummaged through the house. <\/p>\n
After a brief standoff, aall three fled the house on foot. Police say they were last seen heding northbound on Birch towards Cannon Street East.<\/p>\n
The first suspect is described as a white male and 15 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured sweater, dark pants, and a black balaclava, and carrying a dark-coloured backpack.<\/p>\n
The second suspect is also a white male and 15 to 25 years old. He also wore a dark-coloured sweater, dark pants, and a black balaclava, and carried a dark-coloured backpack, while the third is a light-skinned Black male and 15 to 25 years old. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured sweater, dark pants, and gloves, and allegedly brandished a firearm.<\/p>\n
Police say they\u2019re \u201cactively investigating\u201d this incident and are appealing to residents in the area to check their CCTV cameras or dashcams for anything suspicious between 2:00 and 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.<\/p>\n
