Christian Norgaard has denied suggestions that Arsenal are a defensive side, insisting his new team have an attacking approach to matches.\"\"<\/p>\n

Arsenal have had a decent enough start to the 2025\/26 campaign, winning three of five Premier League fixtures (drawing one and losing the other), and winning their opening Champions League and League Cup games.<\/p>\n

Four of those five wins in all competitions were by multiple goals, including a 3-0 against Nottingham Forest and a 5-0 against Leeds United.<\/p>\n

Yet there have been valid questions about Arsenal\u2019s ability to create chances, with the defeat to Liverpool and the draw with Manchester City seeing the Gunners spending plenty of time in possession without really threatening to convert that into goals.<\/p>\n

Those concerns are likely to be front and centre on Sunday, with Arsenal travelling to St. James\u2019 Park. The Gunners have struggled for goals away to Newcastle United at the best of times, and Sunday\u2019s hosts have only conceded three goals in five league fixtures in 2025\/26.<\/p>\n

But speaking to the media this week, Christian Norgaard insisted that Arsenal are an attacking side.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we are an attacking team with an attacking mindset,\u201d Norgaard said<\/a>. \u201cHopefully that will also show in the next couple of games.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019ve been going for it a lot in those games, particularly at the weekend [against Manchester City],\u201d Norgaard added. \u201cI know we equalised late but I think we were the dominant side, looking over 90 minutes, with more chances, more momentum.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes xG doesn\u2019t show the right picture always. That could have created a lot of chances for some of the attacks that we had in the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe players, the talent is unbelievable. There\u2019s so much quality in the team. Now it\u2019s just about getting it to click. I\u2019m sure it will and then we\u2019ll be flying.\u201d<\/p>\n

Norgaard was one of many Arsenal players to pick up an injury in the early weeks of the new campaign, only making his first start for the club against Port Vale in midweek.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old is yet to play a Premier League minute for the Gunners, and he\u2019s unlikely to start over Martin Zubimendi<\/a> against Newcastle on Sunday.
