{"id":176037,"date":"2025-09-28T19:42:07","date_gmt":"2025-09-28T19:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/176037\/"},"modified":"2025-09-28T19:42:07","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T19:42:07","slug":"athletics-will-wear-sacramento-on-their-alternate-jerseys-in-2026-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/176037\/","title":{"rendered":"Athletics will wear &#8216;Sacramento&#8217; on their alternate jerseys in 2026 season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. \u2014 After spending this season in California\u2019s capital city without acknowledging that on their uniforms, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsnet.ca\/baseball\/mlb\/teams\/oakland-athletics\/\" class=\"sn-team-post-link\" target=\"_self\" data-team=\"oakland-athletics\" data-league=\"mlb\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Athletics<\/a> on Sunday announced they will have \u201cSacramento\u201d written on gold alternate jerseys in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The A\u2019s were in Oakland for 57 seasons through 2024, but plan to move to Las Vegas beginning in 2028. They\u2019re using Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento, the home of the San Francisco Giants\u2019 triple-A affiliate (the River Cats), for at least three seasons until a proposed ballpark in Vegas is built.<\/p>\n<p>Officially known as simply the Athletics in 2025, the team did take criticism for not fully embracing its temporary home.
