\n\tA new Netflix documentary<\/a> aims to get to the bottom of why the Montreal<\/a> Expos struck out.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe streamer has released the trailer<\/a> for Who Killed the Montreal Expos? ahead of the film debuting on the platform Oct. 21. Who Killed the Montreal Expos? is set to premiere at the Festival du Nouveau Cin\u00e9ma in Montreal on Oct. 9. <\/p>\n

\n\tDirector Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Poisson\u2019s film centers on the lingering questions and mysteries surrounding the demise of the Expos. The team was the first in Major League Baseball<\/a> to call Canada<\/a> home and remains popular with many Quebecois despite playing its last game in 2004.<\/p>\n

\n\tHall of Famers and former Expos players Pedro Martinez, Vladimir Guerrero Sr. and Larry Walker are interviewed for the documentary, along with former manager Felipe Alou and a number of journalists, fans and team employees. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAs good as we are in hockey, Montreal is a baseball city,\u201d Martinez says in the trailer. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Expos\u2019 death is kind of like a big game of Clue,\u201d one participant explains in the footage. \u201cLots of motives. Lots of suspects. We have a long list.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Expos debuted as a part of the National League East division in 1969. After decades of ups and downs, the MLB<\/a> purchased the team, and it moved to Washington, D.C., following the 2004 season to become the Washington Nationals. <\/p>\n

\n\tWho Killed the Montreal Expos? is set to make its streaming release three days before the 2025 World Series begins on Oct. 24.
