HAMPDEN, Mass. \u2014 The Villanova men’s golf team completed the second round of the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse in second place Monday.<\/p>\n

The Wildcats improved by nine strokes from round one to round two, shooting 287 (-1). VU trails hosts and leaders for a second day, UConn, by 12 strokes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Matt Zerfass<\/a> led the day for Villanova, shooting 70 (-2) to advance his total score to 143 (-1) and tying him for ninth. Zerfass birdied at one, eight, 11 and 13 and only shot over par at two holes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nathan Marion<\/a> followed in the standings for the Wildcats, sitting tied for 18th after shooting 71 (-1) Monday, a three stroke improvement from round one. Marion birdied at holes, one, five, six, eight and 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ryan Pamer<\/a> shot 71 (-1) Monday as well, improving his total score to 148 (+4). Pamer birdied five times on the day and is tied for 25th.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Vibhav Alokam<\/a> is also tied for 25th after shooting 75 (+3) to bring his score to 148 (+4).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Brockton English<\/a> is tied for 53rd after shooting 78 (+6) for the day and 153 (+9) for the tournament.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Golfing as an individual, Luke Leonard<\/a> finished the day shooting 78 (+6) to bring his total for the tournament to 151 (+7). Leonard is tied for 43rd.\u00a0<\/p>\n
