Keith Waltz, a well-known and long-tenured motorsports writer, has passed away at the age of 65.<\/p>\n

Waltz held numerous roles throughout his four decades of working in NASCAR. This has included stints as a writer, columnist, editor, and track communications.<\/p>\n

For long-time fans of motorsports, they likely know Waltz from his time working for motorsports writer and broadcaster icon Chris Economaki at SPEED SPORT.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Waltz has also served as a contributor and Editor for NASCAR Pole Position magazine. On the communications side of the sport, Waltz also worked at Charlotte Motor Speedway for a time.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Waltz tied Ted Schmidt for the Jim Hunter Writer of the Year award<\/a> at the 52nd Annual\u00a0Eastern Motorsport Press Association.<\/p>\n
