{"id":179728,"date":"2025-09-30T09:15:08","date_gmt":"2025-09-30T09:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/179728\/"},"modified":"2025-09-30T09:15:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T09:15:08","slug":"causes-identified-denver-internet-outages-begin-to-ease","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/179728\/","title":{"rendered":"Causes Identified, Denver Internet Outages Begin to Ease"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>                                    (TNS) \u2014 Thousands of Xfinity customers across Denver lost Internet access early Sunday morning, an issue that continued into Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The exact number of people experiencing service interruptions was unknown Sunday, but <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xfinity.com\/support\/statusmap\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Xfinity\u2019s outage map<\/a> showed multiple outages affecting more than 2,000 residents, and several affecting between 501 and 2,000 neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomething is causing our network to not perform in the way we expect,\u201d an alert read Sunday under the cause section of multiple outages on the map.<\/p>\n<p>The map\u2019s legend caps outage impacts at a label of \u201cmore than 2,000 customers\u201d and doesn\u2019t specify the number of people affected. It also doesn\u2019t specify the number of customers affected within the smaller ranges, only that the number lies within the range.<\/p>\n<p>By 7 a.m. Monday, the outages were starting to be resolved, and multiple causes were identified, including damage to the network and power outages. Xfinity estimated that most Internet issues would be fixed by 9:20 a.m. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Internet outages were first reported Sunday at about 4:30 a.m. in Glendale; 5 a.m. in Denver\u2019s Windsor neighborhood; 7:55 a.m. in City Park and South Park Hill; and 8:45 a.m. in Civic Center, Capitol Hill, Cheesman Park, North Park Hill, City Park and the Central Business District, according to Xfinity\u2019s outage map.<\/p>\n<p>Details on all ongoing outages can be found by inputting the affected address into the <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.xfinity.com\/support\/statusmap\" target=\"_blank\" data-cms-ai=\"0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Xfinity outage map<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Denver\u2019s Internet issues started after multiple early Sunday morning power outages, which also affected thousands.<\/p>\n<p>At least one power outage started in eastern Denver at about 4:22 a.m., including parts of the Windsor neighborhood, according to Xcel spokesperson Michelle Aguayo.<\/p>\n<p>A car hit a power pole and knocked down multiple power lines, Aguayo said. The power outage impacted just under 7,600 customers.<\/p>\n<p>Power was restored to most homes in the area by 6 a.m., but nearly 1,000 were left without power until the pole was replaced at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
