RUSTON \u2013 Louisiana Tech Tennis head coach Amy Sargeant<\/a> announced Tuesday the hiring of Eleonora Molinaro<\/a> as the new assistant coach for the Bulldogs.
\n\u00a0
\nMolinaro, a native of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, comes to Ruston following a stellar collegiate career at the University of Tennessee where she compiled 106 victories and was a three-time SEC Honor Roll recipient.
\n\u00a0
\n“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Ele to our coaching staff!”\u00a0 said Sargeant.\u00a0 “I have known her since her junior days as a top 10 ITF player and have admired her journey every step of the way \u2013 through the pro tour, collegiate tour, and now into coaching.
\n\u00a0
\n“Her knowledge, passion, and experience are unmatched, and her addition makes our staff one of the strongest in the country.\u00a0 We are beyond fortunate to have her join the team and the Bulldog Standard.”

\nMolinaro was part of four NCAA Tournament teams, including her senior year when UT reached the NCAA Final Four for just the second time in program history.\u00a0 She went 17-4 in singles and 12-3 in doubles overall as the Volunteers finished the season ranked ninth in the country.

\n“I am honored to take on the role of assistant tennis coach while advancing my graduate studies,” said Molinaro.\u00a0 “From representing Luxembourg with pride to competing at the Division I level, I have learned that the court is not just where matches are won.\u00a0 It is where character is built.\u00a0 I am excited to push their limits, serve their communities, and thrive both in the classroom and on the court.”

\nShe amassed a career singles record of 56-37 and a career doubles record of 50-31, ranking as high as No. 47 in the nation in doubles.\u00a0 As a junior, she totaled 31 victories on the court while helping the Volunteers finish third in the SEC with an 11-2 conference mark.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0

\nSophomore year was a stellar one for Molinaro with single-season high totals in singles and doubles victories, winning her 25th singles match against VCU in the NCAA Tournament.\u00a0 She was a 2022 ITA Scholar-Athlete as well as an SEC Player of the Week recipient after going 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles as Tennessee picked up a pair of road wins against Charlotte and Wake Forest.\u00a0\u00a0
