Oh, God!<\/p>\n It was great that my daughter and her husband were there with me as well.<\/p>\n It’s a heartwarming line that sums up the emotion of the situation.<\/p>\n Lowry Sr also revealed that the families of players had been warned pre-tournament about the abuse that met his son and Rory McIlroy so viciously on Saturday.<\/p>\n “Some of the fans were abusive, is putting it mildly,” Lowry said.<\/p>\n “It was very, very, very bad now.<\/p>\n “It must be this part of the area, I don’t know. Seemingly, some of these guys just go to football matches and hockey matches, and they do the same.<\/p>\n “We were warned, we got a briefing. Even the parents and families got a briefing about it last Thursday evening.<\/p>\n “They told us to stay calm – because you’re going to get abuse.
