(WBAY) &#8211; On Saturday night, NEW Hmong brought a first-of-its-kind healing concert to Oshkosh.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">It\u2019s called Project Ntsuag Siab, meaning \u201corphaned heart\u201d, and the event aims to break the stigma around mental health in the Hmong community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">For many, talking about feelings isn\u2019t something that\u2019s been openly discussed, but organizers say that is beginning to change, especially as the younger generation faces higher rates of suicide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The concert showcases music, art, and messages of hope, all while creating a network of support for families who often face language and cultural barriers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cIn reality, everybody has to have a mental health check-in and support each other to really open that discussion, and through this project, it allows us to talk about mental health and suicide prevention where you don\u2019t have that stigma attached to it,\u201d says Long Vue, the executive director of NEW Hmong.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Organizers say it\u2019s just the beginning of a community-wide conversation that comes during suicide awareness month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 WBAY.
