{"id":182591,"date":"2025-10-01T13:13:42","date_gmt":"2025-10-01T13:13:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/182591\/"},"modified":"2025-10-01T13:13:42","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T13:13:42","slug":"2025-draft-pick-hayden-harris-inks-deal-with-lions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/182591\/","title":{"rendered":"2025 Draft Pick Hayden Harris Inks Deal With Lions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BC Lions announced on Tuesday that the team has signed National defensive lineman Hayden Harris.<\/p>\n<p>Harris (6\u20195, 255 lbs)- joins the squad after being selected in round two (11th overall) in this year\u2019s CFL Draft and working out with both the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHarris gives us another weapon for our defence, while also adding a terrific teammate to the locker room,\u201d said general manager Ryan Rigmaiden.<\/p>\n<p>As we make this push to the playoffs, we couldn\u2019t be more excited to add a player of his calibre to the team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 29 games at the University of Montana from 2023-24, Harris registered 84 total tackles (41 solo, 43 assisted), 21.5 tackles for a loss, 11.5 sacks, four pass knockdowns, three forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries.<\/p>\n<p>Harris also earned second-team All-Big Sky Honours and was the Grizzlies\u2019 Defensive MVP and winner of the Sims-Miller Award as outstanding defensive lineman in his senior season.<\/p>\n<p>He previously attended UCLA from 2019-22 and suited up in three games in his final year with the Bruins.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The BC Lions announced on Tuesday that the team has signed National defensive lineman Hayden Harris.
