\n Turns out Taylor Swift<\/a> meant it when she sang about \u201cnever, ever getting back together.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Now that Travis Kelce has put a ring on it, the Swifties have been celebrating their girl finding her permanent guy, and saying to goodbye all the others for good.\n <\/p>\n

\n Well, maybe not for good, since any casual Swift listener (much less the Swifties) know All Too Well that a substantial portion of her past work was inspired by lost love, and\/or love that just didn\u2019t work out.\n <\/p>\n

\n So in keeping with that, let\u2019s take a trip in the time capsule to revisit some of the famous yet infamous exes who inspired Swift to put pen to paper, from after her debut all the way to a bunch of tortured poets.\n <\/p>\n

\"Joe<\/p>\n

\n The singer dated Joe Jonas, who is a member of the group the Jonas Brothers, for a few months in 2008.\n <\/p>\n

\n Young love can be tough, and after they split, Swift appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres\u2019s daytime talk show where she said she was \u201ccool\u201d with it.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWhen I find that person that is right for me, he\u2019ll be wonderful,\u201d Swift said at the time. \u201cWhen I look at that person, I\u2019m not even going to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n She went on to explain that \u201cI looked at the call log, it was like 27 seconds. That\u2019s got to be a record.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Yikes.\n <\/p>\n

\n Swift also shared that she had recorded a song about their relationship at the time, kind of last minute, titled \u201cForever & Always,\u201d for her sophomore \u201cFearless\u201d album.\n <\/p>\n

\n But many fans also think the tracks \u201cMr. Perfectly Fine,\u201d \u201cBetter Than Revenge,\u201d and \u201cLast Kiss\u201d are also about Jonas.\n <\/p>\n

\n She even referenced him in her opening monologue when she hosted \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d in 2009.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cYou might think I\u2019d bring up Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone,\u201d Swift said.<\/a> \u201cBut I\u2019m not going to mention him in my monologue. Hey, Joe! I\u2019m doing real well and I\u2019m hosting SNL, but I\u2019m not going to write about that in my monologue.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n The pair got past it though, and during a 2019 appearance again with Ellen DeGeneres, the two women were playing a round of \u201cBurning Questions\u201d and the host asked Swift about the most rebellious thing she did as a teen.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cProbably when I, like, put Joe Jonas on blast on your show,\u201d Swift said. \u201cThat was too much. I was 18. Yeah. We laugh about it now, but \u2026 that was mouthy.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\"John<\/p>\n

\n Swift was 19 when she dated fellow artist John Mayer, and let\u2019s just say things didn\u2019t exactly go great.\n <\/p>\n

\n Fans quickly clocked her \u201cDear John\u201d tune \u2013 from her third studio album, 2010\u2019s \u201cSpeak Now\u201d \u2013 as possibly being about Mayer, especially because of the lyrics: \u201cDear John, I see it all, now it was wrong \/ Don\u2019t you think 19 is too young to be played by your dark twisted games, when I loved you so?\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Yikes, again.\n <\/p>\n

\n Even Mayer himself thought the song was about him.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cI was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I\u2019d already been dressed down,\u201d the musician told Rolling Stone in 2012. <\/a>\u201cI mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you\u2019ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?\u201d (Triple yikes!)\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cTwilight\u201d star Taylor Lautner seemed to have spilled tea on himself after dating the superstar who shares his first name.\n <\/p>\n

\n Lautner and Swift were linked for a bit in 2009 after costarring in the movie \u201cValentine\u2019s Day\u201d together, but it wasn\u2019t until years later that we got to sip the tea, when his \u201cScream Queens\u201d costar Lea Michele asked him during a Facebook Live<\/a> about possibly having inspired a Swift song.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cThat\u2019s what she does,\u201d Lautner said at the time. \u201cShe writes songs.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Michele couldn\u2019t figure out the name of the song, but believed it had something to do with a hat. Lautner cleared it up for her.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt\u2019s called \u2018Back to December,\u2019\u201d he said.\n <\/p>\n

\n But there\u2019s no Bad Blood here. In 2023, Swift brought Lautner on stage<\/a> as a surprise during her \u201cEras\u201d tour stop in Kansas City for the debut of the music video for \u201cI Can See You,<\/a>\u201d which costars Lautner.\n <\/p>\n

\n Lautner and his now wife, who is also named Taylor (that\u2019s a lot of Taylors), talked about their support of his ex during their podcast \u201cThe Squeeze<\/a>\u201d at the time.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been very excited about this secret for the last few months,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve known how freaking awesome the video is for awhile now so (we) were just stoked for everybody to see it.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Hold on, because this one got Dionne Warwick involved.\n <\/p>\n

\n Jake Gyllenhaal and Swift briefly dated in 2010, and fans have decided that a few of her songs were about their time together, including but not limited to, \u201cWe Are Never Getting Back Together,\u201d \u201cState of Grace,\u201d and \u201cThe Moment I Knew,\u201d all off her fourth studio album from 2012, titled \u201cRed.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n That first one in particular got attention, as the actor is a well known indie music fan and in \u201cWe Are Never Getting Back Together,\u201d Swift sings, \u201cAnd you would hide away and find your peace of mind \/ With some indie record that\u2019s much cooler than mine.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Fast forward to 2021, when Swift released a short film music video for her single \u201cAll Too Well\u201d off her \u201cRed (Taylor\u2019s Version)\u201d album.\n <\/p>\n

\n While the original track had long been believed to be about Gyllenhaal as well, the short film all but confirmed it as it featured an actor who could have been his double.\n <\/p>\n

\n There is also a line in the song where Swift sings, \u201cAnd I left my scarf there at your sister\u2019s house \/ And you\u2019ve still got it in your drawer even now.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n That\u2019s where Warwick came in.\n <\/p>\n

\n Swift and Styles set tongues wagging after they were spotted by paparazzi strolling together in November 2012, and things seemed even more heated after they were photographed sharing some New Year\u2019s Eve smooches<\/a> the following month.\n <\/p>\n

\n But the boy bander turned out not to be her forever, and he is believed to have inspired \u201cStyle\u201d and \u201cOut of the Woods\u201d \u2013 off her smash album \u201c1989\u201d from 2014 \u2013 and \u201cI Knew You Were Trouble,\u201d off \u201cRed.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n In \u201cOut of the Woods,\u201d Swift sings the lyric \u201cBaby, like we stood a chance \/ Two paper airplanes flying,\u201d due to the fact Styles once wore a paper airplane necklace, and in the music video for the song there are several Easter eggs including her wearing a blue dress which looks a lot like the dress she wore leaving a trip they reportedly took to the British Virgin Islands together.\n <\/p>\n

\n One of her longest relationships is actually Swift\u2019s last public one before she found Kelce.\n <\/p>\n

\n The songstress dated British actor Joe Alwyn for more than six years before they split in 2023.<\/a>\n <\/p>\n

\n The year before, she revealed that her song \u201cLavender Haze\u201d from 2022\u2019s \u201cMidnights\u201d album was connected to their relationship.\n <\/p>\n

\n \u201cLike, my relationship for six years, we\u2019ve had to dodge weird rumors, tabloid stuff \u2013 and we just ignore it,\u201d she said<\/a> in a video shared on social media. \u201cThis song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n And while it\u2019s believed that he inspired multiple other songs \u2013 including the happy-go-lucky \u201cLondon Boy\u201d off of 2019\u2019s \u201cLover\u201d \u2013 he also actually collaborated with her on a few.\n <\/p>\n

\n Under the pen name William Bowery, Alwyn helped Swift write \u201cExile\u201d and \u201cBetty\u201d from her 2020 \u201cFolklore\u201d album; \u201cChampagne Problems,\u201d \u201cConey Island,\u201d and the title track \u201cEvermore\u201d from the same year\u2019s \u201cEvermore\u201d album, and \u201cSweet Nothing\u201d from \u201cMidnights.\u201d\n <\/p>\n

\n Alwyn apparently left a lasting impression given that her 2024 album was titled \u201cThe Tortured Poets Department,\u201d which featured the much less happy \u201cSo Long, London,\u201d also believed to be about the actor. Even the album title itself seemed to be a nod to him, as Alwyn and his friends \u2013 fellow actors Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott \u2013 previously shared that their group chat is titled \u201cTortured Man Club.\u201d<\/a>\n <\/p>\n

\n While not necessarily heartbreak of the romantic kind, Swift\u2019s long-held feud with Katy Perry, believed to have stemmed from a dispute about backup dancers, most likely served as the basis for her 2014 hit \u201cBad Blood\u201d off \u201c1989.\u201d Happily, the pair later reconciled and eventually Perry appeared in Swift\u2019s video for \u201cYou Need to Calm Down\u201d in 2019, wearing, you guessed it, a giant burger costume.\n <\/p>\n
