BKFC founder David Feldman revealed he mortgaged his house to fund a BKFC card.<\/p>\n
With the help of Conor McGregor<\/a>, David Feldman has turned BKFC into a staple of the combat sports community.<\/p>\n According to the BKFC Founder & President, getting the promotion to this point was no small task.<\/p>\n During an in-studio appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show<\/a> this week, Feldman revealed that prior to the BKFC 41 card at 1stBank Center in Colorado, he took out a mortgage on his house in order to fund the event.<\/p>\n \u201cI want to, grow this thing. I love it. I really truly think it\u2019s a $2, $3 billion exit so I\u2019m all in. \u2026 my comfort zone is being uncomfortable, it truly is. I perform under pressure every time, and it always comes through.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m gonna tell you a secret. the Denver event that I did that Conor McGregor came in \u2026 I mortgaged my house. I didn\u2019t have the money for that event until three days after the event. Like, I did the event just rolling the dice and saying, \u2018This is gonna work out.\u2019 And it worked out. I just think if you do the right thing, work your ass off, put all the puzzle pieces together, it works out.\u201d<\/p>\n David Feldman Talks BKFC 82 Competing Against UFC 320<\/p>\n This weekend, UFC vets Mike Perry<\/a> and Jeremy Stephens will throw down in the main event of BKFC 82, the same day the UFC is hosting a championship double header that will see Magomed Ankalaev fight Alex Pereira<\/a>, and Merab Dvalishvili fight Cory Sandhagen.<\/p>\n While the BKFC card is scheduled to begin earlier in the day, Feldman spoke about going head-to-head with the UFC:<\/p>\n \u201cI was hoping for a sellout, but it doesn\u2019t look like we\u2019re gonna get there, to be honest with you. I think we\u2019re going to be in the 11,000-12,000 range, which is very respectable, going against a UFC event, but we were hoping to get about 16,000, but we didn\u2019t get there.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not very disappointed. I didn\u2019t schedule this to go up against the UFC. I scheduled it first and then they came on it. I would never have scheduled it against the UFC, especially a PPV event of this magnitude. To go up against the UFC and still sell 11k-12k tickets\u2026 I\u2019m happy.\u201d<\/p>\n The BKFC 82 card will also include some familiar names, such as Frankie Edgar, Jimmie Rivera, and Oguwale Bamgbose.<\/p>\n David Feldman Hoping for McGregor vs. Diaz III in BKFC<\/p>\n When Nate Diaz<\/a> parted ways with the UFC, he made it clear that his plan was to compete in various combat sports before eventually making his way back to the UFC.<\/p>\n So far, Diaz has competed in several boxing matches, however, there\u2019s been no word on a potential UFC return.<\/p>\n According to Feldman, while Diaz has cited scar tissue as a key reason behind turning down a BKFC offer, he believes the possibility of a McGregor vs. Diaz trilogy fight may be enough to entice the Stockton superstar.<\/p>\n Of course, before that\u2019s a possibility, McGregor has to fight out the remaining two fights on his UFC contract.<\/p>\n \u201cIf he gets through those two fights it makes no sense for him not to (fight in BKFC). \u2026 We talked to Nate a few times.
