<\/p>\nRoster Cuts Catch Up to Two Former Maple Leafs in Latest Waiver Moves <\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\tTwo former members of the Toronto Maple Leafs organization hit waivers on Wednesday, with the biggest name being former Marlies standout Nick Abruzzese<\/a>.<\/p>\n With the 2pm deadline passing, that means a new group of players have been placed on waivers and they include two former members of the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.<\/p>\n The following former Maple Leafs were placed on waivers Wednesday afternoon:<\/p>\n It seems that all the players who were placed on waivers yesterday, including a former Maple Leaf<\/a> cleared, and their respective teams are able to decide what to do with their futures.<\/p>\n Abruzzese could be considered the biggest name on the list, putting up 143 points in 211 games with the Marlies (47 goals, 96 assists) and was a former 4th round pick of the team in 2019 (124th overall).<\/p>\n Lagesson had a cup of coffee in the system, playing five games with the Maple Leafs and 30 games with the Marlies, recording a combined five points (1 NHL assist).<\/p>\n He signed in Toronto as a free agent in 2023.<\/p>\n Abruzzese was a player who could have fought for a potential call-up with the team this season, as Toronto has been giving some of their younger players and Marlies mainstays more time and more reps this preseason.<\/p>\n But for now, teams will have 24 hours to place a claim on either Abruzzese or Lagesson before their respective teams are able to have them clear and then send them to the AHL or figure another alternative.<\/p>\n You can expect much more waiver assignments in the coming days with the regular season only a week away, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a few more former Leafs appear on the wire.<\/p>\n Previously on HockeyPatrol<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\tHOCKEYPATROL.COM![\"HockeyRetourVosPOOL](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/1696.jpg\" "\\"HockeyRetourVosPOOL")
