The sport of NASCAR<\/a> reportedly<\/a> handed down some discipline to one of it’s more well-known drivers following Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar<\/a> violated NASCAR<\/a>‘s Member Conduct after spinning out on one of the final laps of the race where he put safety workers in danger by revving his engine and spinning his tires while they tended to his vehicle.<\/p>\n

Hocevar was running P13 at the time and ended up finishing towards the back of the pack, but it resulted in a pretty hefty fine from the NASCAR office going into the Bank of America Roval 400 in Charlotte.<\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tNASCAR docks Hocevar $50,000<\/p>\n

Hocevar’s No. 77 car had multiple flat tires when help arrived on the scene. And according to the NASCAR Rule Book, it’s a big no-no to do what he did. With the sport citing Sections 4.4.B and 4.4.D on Wednesday:<\/p>\n

Section 4.4.B: \u201cAny actions deemed to compromise the safety of an Event or otherwise pose a dangerous risk to the safety of Competitors, Officials, spectators, or others.\u201d
\nSection 4.4.D: \u201cActions by a NASCAR Member that NASCAR finds to be detrimental to stock car racing or NASCAR.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hocevar has now racked up six figures in fines this year<\/a> after being hit up for another $50,000 by his own team for offensive comments he made about Mexico before walking them back in June.<\/p>\n

Hocevar calls Mexico ‘s\u2014thole,’ walks it back<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe a kid that had never been out of the country until Thursday should ever give an opinion about what any place is like other than Portage, Michigan,\u201d Hocevar posted<\/a> to X. \u201cWhen I answered that question on a stream, I was skeptical about the trip so far and believed everything I read or heard about Mexico City from people who more than likely also had never been here.”<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that I\u2019ve actually left my hotel a couple times and raced here in front of some of the most passionate fans I\u2019ve ever seen, my opinion has changed,” the 22-year-old noted. “I am embarrassed by my comments, by the race I ran, and I may have to move here to hide out from\u00a0Ricky [Stenhouse Jr.]\u00a0anyway.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hocevar has been something of a controversial figure since joining the Cup in 2023.
