{"id":183767,"date":"2025-10-02T00:07:07","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T00:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/183767\/"},"modified":"2025-10-02T00:07:07","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T00:07:07","slug":"cyclist-seriously-injured-in-waterloo-hit-and-run-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/183767\/","title":{"rendered":"Cyclist seriously injured in Waterloo hit-and-run crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A young woman is recovering in hospital after being struck by a Mercedes while out for a nighttime bike ride in Waterloo\u2019s university district.<\/p>\n<p>It was on Tuesday around 10:45 p.m. when <a href=\"https:\/\/kitchener.citynews.ca\/topic\/crime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">regional police<\/a> were called for a reported collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle in the Albert Street and Seagram Drive area of Waterloo.<\/p>\n<p>That driver failed to remain on the scene, leaving the area before police could arrive.
