<\/p>\n Farmingdale State 3, Old Westbury 2 Prior to the match, as has become an annual tradition with the Rams’ program, the team celebrated its Salute to Veterans Match by welcoming four former service members from the nearby Veterans Association Hospital in Northport, N.Y.<\/p>\n After Old Westbury (3-6, 1-3 Skyline) went ahead on a rebound 24 minutes in, the host Rams (2-4-3, 1-0-3) leveled the score three minutes later. Freshman attacker Josue Granados<\/a> (Brentwood, N.Y.) saw his initial effort deflected by the Panthers’ keeper, with the ball finding the feet of classmate Xavi Munoz<\/a> (Brentwood, N.Y.), who sent his first collegiate goal into the center of the net from six yards away.<\/p>\n OW jumped in front 2-1 with 32 minutes to go in the second half on a breakaway score, before FSC rallied to tie the match at the 72:21 mark. Granados received a long pass over the top of the Panthers defense from junior center back Omar Hernandez<\/a> (Brentwood, N.Y.), and was able to chip in his third goal of the season over the charging goalkeeper to knot the score at 2-all. Freshman Carlos Hernandez<\/a> (Dix Hills, N.Y.) also notched an assist on the play.<\/p>\n Granados then assisted on the game-winning goal with four minutes left to play, when his pass across the penalty area found senior winger Tyree Baskin Jr.<\/a> (Freeport, N.Y.). The upperclassman then curled a 15-yard shot off the fingertips of the Old Westbury netminder and into the top-right corner, pushing the Rams to a 3-2 lead that it would not relinquish.<\/p>\n
