{"id":184835,"date":"2025-10-02T11:11:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-02T11:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/184835\/"},"modified":"2025-10-02T11:11:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-02T11:11:09","slug":"american-tennis-has-a-big-reason-to-celebrate-after-developments-at-the-china-open-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/184835\/","title":{"rendered":"American tennis has a big reason to celebrate after developments at the China Open this week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The WTA Tour calendar roars on this week with the China Open, which has already concluded on the ATP Tour.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/jannik-sinner-tells-learner-tien-what-he-needs-to-do-immediately-after-beating-him-in-the-china-open-final\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jannik Sinner won the China Open<\/a> in Beijing to claim his third title of the 2025 season and the 21st of his stunning career so far.<\/p>\n<p>Italian ace Sinner defeated Learner Tien in the final, with the American rising star having played out his first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP Tour<\/a> final.<\/p>\n<p>There was similar heartbreak for his compatriot Taylor Fritz in Tokyo, with the American losing the Japan Open final to Carlos Alcaraz.<\/p>\n<p>But American tennis fans can take great confidence from the fine displays of the two finalists throughout the tournaments, with Fritz and Tien now being followed by many American women at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/china-open\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">China Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2238540744-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Learner Tien and Jannik Sinner pose with their titles after the 2025 China Open final\" class=\"wp-image-133850\" \/>Photo by China Open Official 2025\/VCG via Getty ImagesAmerican tennis has a big reason to celebrate after developments at the China Open<\/p>\n<p>The China Open has reached the quarterfinal stage on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wta\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">WTA Tour<\/a>, with American women really dominating.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, four of the eight quarterfinalists in Beijing were American;
