Alex Pereira has the fans in Las Vegas on his side as he looks to avenge his loss to Magomed Ankalaev.<\/p>\n
The light heavyweight championship rematch between Ankalaev and Pereira headlines UFC 320 this Saturday at T-Mobile Arena, and it didn\u2019t take long for the fighters to exchange words at a pre-fight press conference for the event Thursday. Fans at the press conference added fuel to the fire, booing Ankalaev whenever he took the microphone, prompting the champion to respond.<\/p>\n
\u201cThem booing me doesn\u2019t mean they don\u2019t like me,\u201d Ankalaev said via a Russian translator. \u201cThe reason is I keep beating their favorite fighters and they\u2019re just mad at me. I can\u2019t do nothing about it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reason he became a champion is because I wasn\u2019t there and now I\u2019m here, I\u2019m going to put a stamp on this on Saturday,\u201d Ankalaev added. \u201cBeat him again and then all the questions will be answered.\u201d<\/p>\n
In their first fight at UFC 313 this past March, Ankalaev scored a unanimous decision win over \u201cPoatan.\u201d The bout was light in drama, but by the end of the five-round contest it was Ankalaev who walked out with an uncontroversial victory.<\/p>\n
Still, the fact that he was still standing at the end of the fight left Pereira wanting more.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was on my worst day and that\u2019s all he could do?\u201d Pereira said via a Portuguese translator.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did whatever I wanted to do,\u201d Ankalaev replied. \u201cThere was nothing else I could do. The good thing is you\u2019re ready now so we\u2019re going to see on Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Saturday, your manager won\u2019t be there to help you,\u201d Pereira said, punctuating his remark with his trademark \u201cChama.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, Ankalaev was not moved and made it clear there will be \u201cNo Chama.<\/p>\n
