BLOOMSBURG, Pa. \u2013 The IUP women’s tennis team advanced all four of its doubles pairings to the round of 32 Thursday at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships, hosted by Bloomsburg.<\/p>\n
The Crimson Hawks had a strong day in doubles play, highlighted by\u00a0Maria Moskaltsova<\/a> and Ifigeneia Kafka<\/a>, who defeated\u00a0 Slippery Rock 8-6. The IUP duo will face a California (Pa.) pair in Friday’s action.<\/p>\n Lea Von Kozierowski and Asel Callbay, topped \u00a0Laura Maciel and Luiza Parreira of Fairmont State 8-3.<\/p>\n Annemiek Sterk<\/a> and Hannah Beitat<\/a> edged West Virginia Wesleyan’s\u00a0 team 8-6. They will meet the No. 21 seed from Bluefield State in the next round.<\/p>\n Isabelle Oikawa Torres<\/a> and Charliz Tabili<\/a> also moved on, defeating Fairmont State’s Maria Fonseca and Stephanie Gopar. They will take on\u00a0Edinboro.<\/p>\n IUP also found success in singles play, with Callbay, Von Kozierowski, Moskaltsova, Tabili and Kafka all advancing.<\/p>\n The Crimson Hawks continue competition Friday in Bloomsburg.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
