The Burnaby RCMP is asking the public for help locating a missing boy.<\/p>\n
Police say they received a request for a well-being check for 11-year-old Kai Pavlovic on Sept. 26. They were not able to locate him, and they say they have been searching for him ever since.<\/p>\n
After speaking with Kai\u2019s family, they believe he may be staying with a caretaker who is unknown to police.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur initial priority was to make people aware Kai was missing and to share his picture with the public,\u201d said Cpl. Laura Hirst.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur investigators are making every effort to find Kai, and we are asking for the public\u2019s help as part of those ongoing efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kai is described as being 5 feet tall with a thin build and brown hair.<\/p>\n
As of early Thursday evening, an Amber Alert has not been issued.<\/p>\n
\u201cAmber Alerts are activated in cases where an abduction has been confirmed and there is believed to be imminent danger to the child,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this point in the investigation, the information does not meet the criteria for issuing an Amber Alert.\u201d<\/p>\n
