demotion from Red Bull<\/a> was a tough blow, but it hasn\u2019t stopped him from producing strong performances.<\/p>\n“It’s something that maybe I’ll look back on more when the season is done,” Lawson said on the decision. <\/p>\n
“I thought that about the summer break, having some time to reflect on it, but in the end I didn’t think too much about it.<\/p>\n
“Naturally, my brain goes there sometimes, and I think about it a little bit, but we have so much going on.” <\/p>\n
Red Bull is expected to decide in the coming weeks over who will drive for the team\u2019s two outfits in 2026. <\/p>\n
Though a return to the senior Red Bull squad looks unlikely, retaining his place at Racing Bulls remains very much on the table if he continues to deliver consistent points.<\/p>\n
“We’re in a programme that’s very high pressure,” Lawson said. “It’s always been like that, and we’ll continue to have that pressure through the year until a decision comes,” <\/p>\n
“The message to us is to perform – and the better we perform, the better chance we have at staying in the sport.” <\/p>\n
For now, Lawson says his focus is on keeping Racing Bulls ahead of Aston Martin and chasing down Williams for fifth in the Constructors’ Championship. <\/p>\n
“As much as Baku was a great weekend, one good result isn\u2019t enough,” he said. “We need to keep this consistency going.” <\/p>\n
“Every time I get in the car, I\u2019m just focused on extracting everything I can.”<\/p>\n
