{"id":188258,"date":"2025-10-03T22:31:06","date_gmt":"2025-10-03T22:31:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/188258\/"},"modified":"2025-10-03T22:31:06","modified_gmt":"2025-10-03T22:31:06","slug":"corey-heim-sets-record-with-nascar-truck-series-playoff-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/188258\/","title":{"rendered":"Corey Heim sets record with NASCAR Truck Series playoff win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In one of the most impressive drives of his young <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nascar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">NASCAR\u00a0<\/a> career, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nascar\/players\/corey_heim\/910470\" class=\"yard_link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Corey Heim<\/a> rebounded from a Lap 1 crash to win Friday&#8217;s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series playoff race at the Charlotte Roval.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Heim was involved in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yardbarker.com\/nascar\/articles\/nascar_truck_series_championship_favorites_crash_on_first_lap_of_crucial_playoff_race\/s1_13132_42842268\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lap 1 incident<\/a>, but stormed back through the pack. Heim was running second in the closing laps, but a caution flag forced leader Brent Crews to pit and gave Heim the lead.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Heim was cool, calm and collected on the final restart, driving away to score his 10th win of the season \u2014 a record for the most victories in a single Truck Series season.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tCorey Heim earns a spot in the Championship 4<\/p>\n<p>Heim has also locked up his spot in the Championship 4 with the win, ensuring the final two Round of 8 races at Talladega and Martinsville can&#8217;t hurt the No. 11 team.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was not easy,&#8221; Heim told Fox Sports. &#8220;I think this was toughest one of the year so far. I thought we were done, honestly. Just an awesome day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Crews, Gio Ruggiero, Rajah Caruth and Connor Zilisch rounded out the top five, with Josh Bilicki, Grant Enfinger, Ty Majeski, Tyler Ankrum and Connor Mosack completing the top 10.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Crews led the most laps of any driver with 55, while Honeycutt swept the stages.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The second race of the Truck Series Round of 8 will take place at Talladega Superspeedway on Oct. 17.
