Bo Levi Mitchell of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Week 18 in the CFL features a clash of rivals at BMO Field, where the Toronto Argonauts host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton lost on a last-second field goal to Toronto when these teams previously clashed last month, and my Tiger-Cats vs. Argonauts predictions are betting on the Tabbies to get revenge here.

Here are my best CFL picks for the Battle of the QEW on October 4.

Tiger-Cats vs Argonauts prediction

My Tiger-Cats vs Argonauts pick: Tiger-Cats -1.5 (-115 at BET99)

This is a revenge spot for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who lost a heartbreaker to the Toronto Argonauts on Labour Day, but had gone 4-0 SU and ATS in the previous four meetings.

The Ticats are coming off an ugly loss in Winnipeg but are still atop the East Division with a 9-6 record. Their offense had been on fire before getting shut down by the Bombers, and I expect them to bounce back against an Argos squad that ranks last in the CFL in scoring defense (31.0 ppg).

The Argos also surrender a league-high 9.62 yards per pass attempt, which is bad news against a highly efficient Tabbies aerial attack led by Bo Levi Mitchell and a bevy of talented receivers.

Hamilton’s D has struggled lately but still boasts the lowest opponent pass efficiency in the CFL (94.8). Hamilton’s biggest weakness is its run defense, but Toronto has easily the worst ground game in the league, averaging just 3.8 yards per rush attempt.

In addition, the Argos have the worst kick coverage unit in the league, and the Tabbies have an elite returner in Isaiah Wooden. The only thing the Argos do well is pass the ball, and that’s not enough for me to back them on a short line against a team that has the edge in every other area.

Tiger-Cats vs Argonauts same-game parlay (SGP)

This O/U is one of the highest totals we’ve seen on the CFL board this year, but the Over still makes sense.

With Nick Arbuckle under center and the Toronto defense sitting near the bottom of the league, the Argos have been a dead Over team. Arbuckle is averaging 337.6 passing yards per game over his last seven starts and the O/U is 5-2 in that span.

The Ticats are coming off their worst defensive performance of the year, surrendering 514 yards and 40 points to Winnipeg. However, they have the offensive firepower to put up plenty of points themselves.

Bet on the CFL at BET99!

One of Canada’s best sportsbooks for football betting, join BET99 and get up to $800 bonus bets back if your first bet doesn’t win when using our BET99 promo code COVERSBONUS

*Not available in Ontario. 19+.
