Wallace made it clear Saturday at the Charlotte Roval that he wasn\u2019t upset with Hamlin for racing him for the win \u2014 that\u2019s expected even with Hamlin the co-owner of Wallace\u2019s 23XI Racing car.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Tyler Reddick\u2019s wife Alexa took their son to hospital last week and wrote on Instagram that he was showing signs of heart failure.<\/p>\n Wallace\u2019s disappointment was with Hamlin not running low as they raced side-by-side to keep Elliott behind them and allowing them to race for the win.<\/p>\n Wallace\u2019s feelings intensified during the week as Hamlin said on his podcast that he didn\u2019t need to apologize.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was just the way it was kind of handled behind the scenes, just kept going, kept adding fuel to the fire,\u201d Wallace said. \u201cI hate that it got to that point and I expressed my displeasure to Denny today and he totally respected that.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n Tyler Reddick will be joined by Shane van Gisbergen on the front row for Sunday\u2019s Cup playoff elimination race.<\/p>\n Hamlin told reporters Saturday he thought all was good between them, especially after Wallace came over and gave Hamlin a brief embrace on pit road<\/a> after last weekend\u2019s race.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t, truthfully, know he was upset,\u201d Hamlin said. \u201cIf I\u2019m being honest, I listened to his post-race (interview) and when I heard him say it was two guys going for it and he came over and shook my hand \u2014 it was quick but he did \u2014 I truthfully didn\u2019t know he was upset. But I should have at least checked with him to make sure and that\u2019s on me.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The Round of 8 field will be set on the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course.<\/p>\n Hamlin said there wasn\u2019t a meeting until Saturday because he wanted to do so face-to-face.<\/p>\n Where do things stand between the two drivers?<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a good, heart-to-heart conversation,\u201d Wallace said. \u201cIt came from a place of peace. It went better than I thought it would. He shared his side of things, and I shared mine and we had common ground.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
