That\u2019s the overwhelming sentiment following his latest successful title defense, a five-round unanimous decision victory over the dangerous Cory Sandhagen. It wasn\u2019t an easy win for Dvalishvili by any stretch as Sandhagen seemed to have an answer defensively for everything Dvalishvili threw at him, whether it was on the feet or on the ground, but Dvalishvili\u2019s trademark relentlessness carried him to another convincing victory.<\/p>\n
Dvalishvili took Sandhagen down over and over again, and he authored the most decisive moment of the fight, a knockdown in Round 2 followed by several hard punches on the ground that threatened to stop the fight. Sandhagen survived and put on a spirited effort for 25 minutes and in the end it still wasn\u2019t enough to dethrone the bantamweight king.<\/p>\n
On Twitter, UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney asked, \u201cIs there anyone that can beat Merab? He\u2019s gotta be the bantamweight GOAT now, so who\u2019s next?\u201d<\/p>\n
Dvalishvili called for a fight with Petr Yan, a former UFC champion and one of several former contenders Dvalishili has already beaten, so McKinney\u2019s question could remain without an answer for a long time.<\/p>\n
