The New York Knicks’ front office will have a few key decisions to make throughout training camp and the rest of the preseason if they wish to contend for an NBA title with Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns leading the way.<\/p>\n

Specifically, one of their most important choices could include a space-creating trade to hand a few currently non-guaranteed role players a full-time opportunity with the team this regular season.<\/p>\n

If the Knicks eventually aim to sign impactful names such as 2017 Rookie of the Year and 2023 Sixth Man of the Year recipient Malcolm Brogdon along with their incumbent sharpshooter Landry Shamet, a new update<\/a> has indicated that the franchise should trade away their seldom-used former No. 25 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft Pacome Dadiet to create the necessary room.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s starting to sound like Pacome Dadiet\u2019s time with the New York Knicks is drawing to a close,” FanSided’s Dan Favale wrote Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

“There is too much noise surrounding Dadiet for these rumors to end up legless. It\u2019s also not like he\u2019s done anything during summer league or to start the preseason to suggest he\u2019s on the verge of contributing.”<\/p>\n

“This doesn\u2019t prove salary-dumping him is without risk. The Knicks would be punting on a 20-year-old prospect earning next to nothing,\u00a0who has turned heads in practice, for the chance to add\u2026a 10th or 11th man.”<\/p>\n

While the Knicks could have a choice between dealing either Dadiet or their 24-year-old point guard prospect Tyler Kolek, it’s more likely that Dadiet would be shipped out first.<\/p>\n

Spanning 18 regular season appearances for New York as a rookie in 2024-25, the 6-foot-7 guard contributed 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds on a putrid 44.6% true shooting percentage in just 6.2 minutes of action.<\/p>\n

Dadiet played sparingly at the NBA level, but he did receive more opportunity with the franchise’s Westchester G-League affiliate.<\/p>\n

In 14 contests and eight starts with Westchester last season, the Aubagne, France native averaged 14.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists, though he still lacked heavily in the efficiency department with a 49.7% effective field goal percentage.<\/p>\n

Heading into his second NBA season, the young wing could plausibly land with another organization and receive another chance at earning rotational minutes in the very near future.<\/p>\n
