On Saturday, Sept. 13, Kidman announced on\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0that the follow-up to the 1998 fantasy film had officially finished filming \u2014 and shared what appears to be a behind-the-scenes set clip.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s a wrap on #PracticalMagic2! Thank you to the cast & crew for all your magic \u2728,\u201d wrote Kidman, 58, alongside a video of herself and Bullock. The footage showed the actresses \u2014 who are reprising their roles as sisters (and witches) Gillian and Sally Owens in the sequel \u2014 laughing and embracing.<\/p>\n On Monday, Sept 29, PEOPLE confirmed that the Oscar-winning actress and the country singer, 57, have split. “Nicole\u2019s sister [Antonia]<\/a>\u00a0has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another,” a source shared.<\/p>\n “She didn\u2019t want this,” added the source. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”<\/p>\n Taylor Hill\/WireImage<\/p>\n Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban in 2023<\/p>\n TMZ was first to\u00a0report<\/a>\u00a0news of the breakup, citing sources who said the pair have been living apart since the beginning of the summer.<\/p>\n The longtime couple married in June 2006 and share daughters\u00a0Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14<\/a>. Kidman was previously married to Tom Cruise.<\/p>\n Under Kidman’s Practical Magic 2 post, fans in the comments expressed excitement about the forthcoming sequel to the witchy cult classic \u2014 which was based on the 1995 Alice Hoffman novel of the same name \u2014 while others seemed astonished that filming for the movie has already finished.<\/p>\n Less than two months earlier, Kidman first\u00a0announced her and Bullock\u2019s first day on the set of the sequel<\/a>\u00a0in a similar fashion.<\/p>\n On July 18, the actress\u00a0posted<\/a>\u00a0behind-the-scenes footage of herself and her onscreen sister, 61, hugging and smiling widely on the set of the film. In the caption, Kidman wrote: “The witches are back \u2728. Owens sisters\u2019 first day on set! #PracticalMagic.\u201d<\/p>\n The original film follows the sister duo as they fight off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with.\u00a0Stockard Channing<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Dianne Wiest<\/a>\u00a0starred as their on-screen aunts, parts they will be reprising in the long-awaited sequel.<\/p>\n Last summer, original producer\u00a0Denise Di Novi<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 who is on the\u00a0Practical Magic 2\u00a0producing team, along with Kidman and Bullock \u2014 told\u00a0Entertainment Weekly<\/a>\u00a0that the sequel will adapt the story of\u00a0The Book of Magic<\/a>, Hoffman’s 2021 follow-up novel and the fourth in the\u00a0Practical Magic\u00a0book series.<\/p>\n Warner Bros via Getty<\/p>\n Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic<\/p>\n Speaking with PEOPLE in August 2024, the producer said that the forthcoming sequel will aim to keep the spirit of the original while still offering something new for fans. “I think the big mistake people make with sequels,\u201d Di Novi said at the time, \u201cis when they\u00a0kind of want to reinvent the wheel<\/a>\u00a0and be totally original and surprise people that it’s different or whatever.\u201d<\/p>\n That spirit of sisterhood was alive and well on the set of the sequel, according to Kidman. In August, the star told PEOPLE that she and Bullock\u00a0have such a close bond that they are “like sisters<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI can tease her, and she teases me,” Kidman said at the time, describing the duo’s dynamic as \u201cinsane.\u201d<\/p>\n The\u00a0Babygirl<\/a>\u00a0star also said the actresses can hardly believe they were back in the\u00a0Practical Magic\u00a0world again, 27 years later. “We’re both like, ‘What?’ But we were just right back into it,” Kidman told PEOPLE, adding of Bullock: “I adore her and she is so funny and so lovable.
