{"id":193075,"date":"2025-10-06T12:38:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-06T12:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/193075\/"},"modified":"2025-10-06T12:38:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T12:38:11","slug":"aew-star-quietly-gets-name-change-during-recent-absence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/193075\/","title":{"rendered":"AEW Star Quietly Gets Name Change During Recent Absence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wrestlezone.com\/tag\/aew\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AEW<\/a> star has quietly undergone a name change.<\/p>\n<p>On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allelitewrestling.com\/aew-roster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">All Elite Wrestling\u2019s official roster page<\/a>, fans were quick to notice that Adam Copeland no longer goes by \u201cCope.\u201d The star is now referred to by his full name, <a href=\"http:\/\/wrestlezone.com\/tag\/adam-copeland\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Adam Copeland<\/a>. The name change now sees the star, formerly known as Edge during his time in WWE, go by his real-life name.<\/p>\n<p>Copeland joined AEW in 2023, where he made his debut at the WrestleDream pay-per-view. During his time with the company, Copeland has gone through a litany of runs, including winning the TNT Championship in late 2023. <\/p>\n<p>After a major feud with his longtime friend Christian Cage, Copeland recently reunited with Cage. The pair competed at AEW All Out, defeating FTR in a big match. However, the match ended with Copeland having to watch as FTR attacked both Cage and Copeland\u2019s wife, Beth.
