Busy Philipps<\/a>‘ lips aren’t sealed about her steamy kiss with Joshua Jackson<\/a> during the recent Dawson’s Creek <\/a>cast reunion in New York City.\n<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Philipps shared<\/a> photos and video of the buzzy moment with her former onscreen love interest during the one-night-only charity event on Sept. 22, and shared the story of how their smooch came to be.\n<\/p>\n

“LOL to Josh\u2019s response to me when I said after our last rehearsal, ‘I mean we COULD really kiss,'” Philipps wrote on Instagram. “And he looked at me and said, ‘I mean\u2026I think we gotta give the people what they want.'”\n<\/p>\n

During last week’s event, most of the Dawson’s Creek cast reunited to read the pilot script onstage at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, in partnership with\u00a0F Cancer. Since Philipps joined the show in season 5 as Audrey, she read the part of Tamara Jacobs (originally portrayed by Leann Hunley), the teacher who seduced her 15-year-old student Pacey (Jackson) early in the series.\n<\/p>\n

When Jackson and Philipps got to the scene in the pilot where Pacey and Tamara kiss, the actors recreated that moment along with an exaggerated dip as the crowd went wild. Watch Philipps’ video of that moment below:\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Philipps and Jackson’s characters would later go on to date on the show.\n<\/p>\n

Michelle Williams<\/a> organized the Dawson’s Creek reunion event for the cast of the iconic 1998 teen drama, bringing together Katie Holmes<\/a>,\u00a0Mary Beth Peil, John Wesley Shipp, Mary-Margaret Humes, Nina Repeta, Kerr Smith, and Meredith Monroe, along with Jackson and Philipps. Series star James Van Der Beek<\/a>\u00a0backed out<\/a>\u00a0last minute due to illness,\u00a0but still made a surprise appearance at the event in a sweet video message for attendees and his fellow cast members.\n<\/p>\n

“I have been looking forward to this night for months and months and months ever since my angel Michelle Williams said she would put it together,” Van Der Beek, 48, said in the clip, one day after a stomach virus led to him exiting<\/a> the charity event aimed at raising money to help fight cancer. Van Der Beek was\u00a0diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2024<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

He then joked that his replacement in the live reading at the event was a “young up-and-comer,” with the role of Dawson being taken over by\u00a0Hamilton legend\u00a0Lin-Manuel Miranda<\/a>, who ran on stage after the clip played.\n<\/p>\n

Video<\/a> from the event\u00a0shows Van Der Beek’s children singing the beloved drama’s theme song, Paula Cole’s “I Don’t Want to Wait,” with cast members on stage, while the audience stood during the performance.\n<\/p>\n

In her social media post, Philipps praised the Van Der Beek family for “continuing to show us all what real love and strength looks like in the face of this disease.”\n<\/p>\n

She continued, “James was missed so much but his videos and the light of his family lifted us all up!! F cancer for REAL.”<\/p>\n
