The team has decided to put together a group which includes 15 forwards, eight defencemen, two goalies.<\/p>\n
Among the players that will break camp with the team include forward Matvei Gridin and and defenceman Zayne Parekh. <\/p>\n
Parekh, 19, has been pushing to make the roster out of camp but knowing there is still work to do to be a consistent presence in the lineup. He was skating as an extra defenceman in practice on Monday<\/p>\n
Gridin, 19, is expected to take Huberdeau\u2019s spot alongside centre Morgan Frost and right-winger Matt Coronato<\/p>\n
The team will also have a couple of players who won’t be available to start the season.<\/p>\n
Huberdeau was hurt after colliding with goaltender Kevin Lankinen in a pre-season game against the Vancouver Canucks. The 32-year-old Huberdeau is coming off his best season in Calgary, scoring 28 goals and 62 points in 81 games in 2024-25.<\/p>\n
Pospisil missed the final pre-season game with an undisclosed injury.\u00a0Pospisil had a career-best 25 points \u2014 four goals and 21 assists \u2014 and 84 penalty minutes in 81 games last season for Calgary, which earned him a three-year contract extension.<\/p>\n
Sam Honzek was also recalled from the AHL Calgary Wranglers.<\/p>\n
