Blake Snell peaks in the postseason.<\/p>\n
He put up another dominant outing for the Los Angeles Dodgers<\/a> on Monday night, and it made MLB history in the process.<\/p>\n OptaStats<\/a> came up with this gem:<\/p>\n “Blake Snell now has 4 career postseason outings with 9+ strikeouts and no more than 2 hits allowed. That’s the most by any pitcher in MLB postseason history.”<\/p>\n That’s amazing.<\/p>\n There are so many legends of the game who got lots of time in the playoffs.<\/p>\n MORE:\u00a0Vladdy Jr. hit the most epic, historic grand slam the Blue Jays have ever had<\/a><\/p>\n Snell stands above all of them in this category that essentially just screams dominance.<\/p>\n He began his great postseason work with the Tampa Bay Rays<\/a> and has carried it into the latter stages of his career.<\/p>\n Snell actually had one of his most dominant outings against the Dodgers in the 2020 World Series, but the Rays pulled him from that game prematurely and it backfired.<\/p>\n Now, the Dodgers won’t be pulling Snell when they don’t have to. He’s the best thing they’ve got going for them when he’s on the mound.<\/p>\n Snell’s victory was especially big Monday night for what it meant for the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Dodgers were already up a game to none in the best-of-five series. Being up 2-0 makes it quite unlikely that the Phillies can make it back in the series.<\/p>\n If L.A. gets its way, the series will be closed out in Game 3. But even if not, the Dodgers are in total control to get this done.<\/p>\n
