<\/p>\nSt-Louis Publicly Responds to Patrik Laine With Clear Message Ahead of Canadiens’ Season Opener <\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\tPatrik Laine<\/a>‘s training camp certainly didn’t go as he had hoped. Despite all the effort he put in over the summer – and despite starting camp on the Montreal Canadiens’ second line – he lost that spot.<\/p>\n Following that demotion, during his most recent media availability, Laine mentioned that he needs to keep working to become a more complete player.<\/p>\n Clearly, Martin St-Louis agrees.<\/p>\n Martin St-Louis responds and sends a clear message to Patrik Laine: the Finnish forward must be more effective at 5-on-5<\/p>\n The topic has come up in St-Louis’ last two press conferences, and in both cases, he delivered essentially the same message.<\/p>\n Martin St.Louis on Patrik Laine:<\/p>\n “I know he has a good shot and is efficient on the power play but we have to continue seeing the details in his game during five-on-five”<\/p>\n In other words.. Laine needs to bring more at even strength – plain and simple.<\/p>\n Once again today, St-Louis delivered a similar message about Laine:<\/p>\n Martin St-Louis, essentially on Patrik Laine:<\/p>\n “You might play six minutes on the power play in a game. But what are you doing the rest of the time?
