Byron\u2019s lap-leading record is not exactly a hidden stat. He\u2019s dominated stretches of the season \u2014 from leading 243 laps at Darlington to taking command at Michigan, Kansas, and Texas.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Even in races where he didn\u2019t win, his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet was frequently up front, battling in clean air.<\/p>\n

So why did the comment sting so much?<\/p>\n
