The Phoenix took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Elon fended off a salvo of Duke shots and dangerous free kicks in the opening minutes of the second half to keep the Blue Devils off the scoreboard.
Duke went down a man in the 70th minute when Aleksandar Vukovic took down Dominik Renz on a sprint toward the box, picking up a red card.
Despite being down a man, the Blue Devils pressured Elon’s back line in the final stages of the contest. In the 84th minute, Thomas Vold finally put Duke on the board, tying the score at 1-1.
Leavitt made two more saves after Duke’s goal to secure the tie for the Phoenix.

Notes & Numbers

Flowers’ goal was his first of the season and the third of his career.
