FC Barcelona has released its latest financial report, describing the 2024\u201325 season as a year of \u201ceconomic recovery\u201d and steady progress toward stability. The Catalan club posted ordinary profits of \u20ac2 million, marking its second consecutive year in the black, even while playing away from the Spotify Camp Nou at the Estadi Ol\u00edmpic Llu\u00eds Companys.<\/p>\n
In a statement from the club, Bar\u00e7a reported that its total operating income reached \u20ac994 million, driven by strong stadium attendance, merchandising growth, and record sponsorship deals totaling \u20ac259 million. The renewed partnership with Nike and the club\u2019s expanding global e-commerce network, now active in more than 170 countries, helped merchandise sales soar to \u20ac170 million, up 55% from the previous year.<\/p>\n
Despite these gains, the club reported a final post-tax loss of \u20ac17 million due to one-off factors such as UEFA\u2019s \u20ac15 million fair play sanction, accounting adjustments linked to Bar\u00e7a Produccions, and the sale of hospitality products under the new Personal Seating License (PSL) system.<\/p>\n
Perhaps most notably, the club\u2019s debt has been cut to \u20ac469 million, a \u20ac90 million improvement from the previous year. Bar\u00e7a\u2019s wage bill now represents 54% of ordinary income, comfortably within UEFA\u2019s financial limits and a reflection of tighter spending controls under president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead to the 2025\u201326 season, Barcelona projects ordinary revenues of \u20ac1.075 billion as the team gradually returns to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou. The club expects another rise in matchday income, continued commercial growth, and potentially its third straight year of positive results.<\/p>\n
Beyond the balance sheets, the numbers show a club finally emerging from the financial turbulence of recent years.<\/p>\n
In particular, the record-breaking merchandising thanks to a booming global fan base (its YouTube channel is now the world\u2019s most-followed in sports) has helped bring huge incomes in. Laporta has also avoided the excesses of his predecessor, Josep Maria Bartomeu.<\/p>\n
