Three Vancouver Island hotels are being ranked among the best in the country, while one\u00a0 Island resort is among the top 50 in the world, according to travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler and its sister magazine, Conde Nast Traveller.<\/p>\n

Not to be confused as the same outlet, Conde Nast Traveler is based in the U.S., while Conde Nast Traveller is based in the U.K.<\/p>\n

Starting with our British cousins, Conde Nast Traveller placed Victoria\u2019s Magnolia Hotel & Spa as the very best hotel in the country<\/a>, based on average satisfaction scores of guests.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are absolutely blushing and so proud of this international recognition,\u201d said the Magnolia Hotel in a social media post Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, two more Greater Victoria hotels were named among the best in Western Canada by the U.S.-based Conde Nast Traveler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Oak Bay Beach Hotel was ranked the very best hotel in Western Canada this year, while The Fairmont Empress in Victoria was named the second best.<\/p>\n

Vancouver Island resorts praised<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, readers of the British-based Conde Nast Traveller named a Vancouver Island resort as the third best in Canada and the U.S.<\/p>\n

The Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino was named the third best resort in \u201cThe Americas,\u201d<\/a> behind the Four Seasons Resort and Residences in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and the Lone Mountain Ranch, Big Sky, Montana \u2013 in the first and second spots, respectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are incredibly honoured to once again be recognized as the #1 Resort in Canada (#3 Best Resort in the US & Canada) by the UK readers of Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveller,\u201d said Charles McDiarmid, ma\u00eetre de maison of Wickaninnish Inn.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are equally pleased that readers of the US-focused edition of Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveler also placed the Wickaninnish Inn in the top 10 in their ratings this year,\u201d he said. \u201cThese awards reflect the dedication and passion of our entire team, who work tirelessly to craft memorable experiences for our guests while staying true to our commitment to excellence, sustainability, and our profound connection to the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.\u201d<\/p>\n

American opinions differed slightly from their British counterparts when it came to the best resorts around.<\/p>\n

A different Tofino-area resort made Conde Nast Traveler\u2019s list of the top 50 resorts in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, located northeast of Tofino, was named the 25th best resort on the planet.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just one of the three Canadian resorts to make the list, with the other two being the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, in 11th spot, and the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler, in 27th spot.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Canadian glamping experience like no other. Accessible only by air and water, the coastal rainforest and glacial lakes on this tip of Vancouver Island make quite an impression on guests landing by floatplane on Bedwell Sound,\u201d says Conde Nast Traveler of the Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge.<\/p>\n

The number one best resort in the world this year went to COMO Uma Ubud in Bali, Indonesia, according to Conde Nast Traveler\u2019s Reader\u2019s Choice Awards.<\/p>\n
