Zach Bryan<\/a> is responding to the criticism surrounding his new song.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old country singer has posted a written response on his Instagram<\/a> story addressing the criticism surrounding his \u201cBad News\u201d song<\/a> that is believed to have an anti-ICE message. <\/p>\n

For context, Zach shared a snippet of his new song earlier this month and it was immediately met with backlash by MAGA supporters and even homeland security<\/a>, prompting the singer\u2019s response. <\/p>\n

He posted a screenshot of what he wrote, asking people to please read it. <\/p>\n

\u201cI wrote this song months ago. I posted this song three months ago as a snippet. This shows you how divisive a narrative can be when shoved down our throats through social media. This song is about how much I love this country and everyone in it more than anything,\u201d the Grammy winner began.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you hear the rest of the song, you will understand the full context that hits on both sides of the aisle. Everyone using this now as a weapon is only proving how devastatingly divided we all are. We need to find our way back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zach kept going, saying that he has \u201cserved this country\u201d and loves it. He pleads for people to come out of this \u201cdivided space.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe song is about all of us coming out of this divided space. I wasn\u2019t speaking as a politician or some greater-than-thou a\u2013hole, just a 29 year old man who is just as confused as everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

In direct response to the criticism, the \u201cSomething in the Orange\u201d songwriter says, \u201cTo see how much s\u2013t it stirred up makes me not only embarrassed but kind of scared. Left wing or right wing we\u2019re all one bird and American. To be clear I\u2019m on neither of these radical sides.\u201d<\/p>\n

His statement continued into a second slide on his Instagram story, which claimed he\u2019d been \u201cscrutinized by more people than\u201d he\u2019d ever thought possible.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am SO proud to have served in a country where we can all speak freely and converse amongst each other without getting doxxed or accosted on the internet or worse; the violence and heartbreak we\u2019ve faced in the last few months! God speed ol sons I\u2019m out!\u201d Zach concluded.<\/p>\n

Last month, the former Navy petty officer set a new concert record, achieving the largest ticketed audience in US history.<\/a><\/p>\n
