\n\tGeorge Clooney<\/a> recently told E! News that \u201cOcean\u2019s 14\u201d is likely going to film next year with original franchise stars Julia Roberts<\/a>, Brad Pitt<\/a>, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle expected to return. The Oscar winner first teased<\/a> there was a \u201cgreat\u201d script for \u201cOcean\u2019s 14\u201d in 2023. Variety reported<\/a> at the start of this year that \u201cThe Fall Guy\u201d and \u201cBullet Train\u201d filmmaker\u00a0David Leitch<\/a>\u00a0was boarding the crime caper sequel to direct.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe just got the budget approved at Warner Bros. and we\u2019re trying to set up,\u201d Clooney now confirmed. \u201cIt\u2019s just scheduling, so it\u2019s just setting a start date for us. Probably start in about nine or 10 months, shooting.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked if he is excited to reunite with Brad Pitt once again on the big screen, Clooney answered: \u201cYeah, Brad [Pitt], Matt [Damon] and Don [Cheadle] and Julia [Roberts]. I had dinner last night with Julia. They\u2019re all still really dear friends. And so, the chance to work together would be fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe original \u201cOcean\u2019s\u201d trilogy, directed by Steven Soderbergh, launched in 2001 with \u201cOcean\u2019s Eleven,\u201d a critical favorite and a commercial hit with just over $450 million at the worldwide box office. The franchise continued with 2004\u2019s \u201cOcean\u2019s Twelve\u201d ($362 million) and 2007\u2019s \u201cOcean\u2019s Thirteen\u201d ($311 million). A spinoff, 2018\u2019s \u201cOcean\u2019s 8,\u201d starred Sandra Bullock as the sister of George Clooney\u2019s Danny Ocean opposite Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling and Anne Hathaway. The movie hit the $297 million mark worldwide.<\/p>\n

\n\tClooney told Uproxx<\/a>\u00a0in 2023 that \u201cwe have a really good script for another\u00a0\u2018Ocean\u2019s\u2019\u00a0now, so we may end up doing another one. It\u2019s actually a great script.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhen asked if the script was for a potential \u201cOcean\u2019s 14,\u201d Clooney responded: \u201cWell\u2026 I don\u2019t want to call it that\u2026 I mean, the idea is kind of like\u00a0\u2018Going in Style.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tClooney was referring to Martin Brest\u2019s 1979 heist comedy, which famously starred George Burns, Art Carney, Lee Strasberg and Charles Hallahan. Zach Braff remade the film in 2017 with a cast that featured Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin. The plot centers on a three senior citizens who team up to pull off a heist.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhatever \u201cOcean\u2019s 14\u201d turns out to be, this entry is separate from the previously reported franchise prequel that is expected to star \u201cBarbie\u201d favorites Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Filmmaker Jay Roach and written by Carrie Solomon are attached to the prequel, which is expected to take place in 1960s Europe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"George Clooney recently told E!
