Lymphatic drainage<\/a> just got easier.<\/p>\n On Thursday, Cean, a functional clothing brand focused on lymphatic drainage, is launching direct-to-consumer. The brand, coined as \u201cwearable wellness,\u201d was founded by Lauren Dovey, also the founder of wellness tech<\/a> brand Heat Healer<\/a>, which is known for its sauna blanket.<\/p>\n More from WWD<\/p>\n Cean\u2019s initial lineup, which features compression and micromassage for lymphatic drainage, includes a Lymphatic romper, $168; Lymphatic leggings, $138; Lymphatic onesie, $198;\u00a0Lymphatic sports bra, $58; Lymphatic biker shorts, $78; Lymphatic triangle bralette, $48; Lymphatic long-sleeve top, $98; Lymphatic duo band (which can be worn as a headband or around the face to sculpt the jaw line), $28, and De-Bloat brief underwear, $38, which Dovey said are a first-to-market product. All products are available in six colors: black, nude, cloud, royal navy, retro red and sky blue. According to the brand, these products could sculpt the body, support circulation, eliminate fluid retention, remove toxins, reduce bloating, support recovery, particularly after a workout, and promote healthier-looking skin.<\/p>\n Cean\u2019s launch<\/a> follows the success of Heat Healer\u2019s wearable wellness collection<\/a>, which launched in July 2024 and includes an Activated Lymphatic onesie, $200, which Dovey maintains a patent for on the pattern and design, and Activated Lymphatic leggings, $149.<\/p>\n According to Dovey, the Heat Healer collection has become a multimillion-dollar opportunity in just one year, and she expects Cean to reach similar sales in its first year.<\/p>\n \u201cIt went crazy. We\u2019ve had so much good feedback about it. We\u2019ve had just so many amazing stories from customers [on] how it\u2019s helped them,\u201d Dovey said.<\/p>\n From there, consumers wanted more.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had so much feedback that was like, \u2018Can you make a long sleeve? Why can\u2019t you make this with plant-based fibers? Why can\u2019t you make different colors?\u2019\u201d Dovey said. \u201cWhen we were launching it under Heat Healer, I had this dream of this very functional suit that looked really chic and you could pair it with different clothing. Having it become its own line didn\u2019t really make sense under the Heat Healer brand.\u201d<\/p>\n Therefore Dovey set out to create Cean as a separate brand, implementing all of the feedback from consumers \u2014 most notably that there would be an array of styles that could range from activewear to loungewear<\/a>; an array of colors, and it would employ plant-based fibers.<\/p>\n According to Dovey, the biggest challenge was creating something that featured medical-grade compression and used plant-based fibers \u2014 in the realm of activewear, plant-based fibers have become increasingly popular again, as more consumers are concerned with the toxins that could be released from typical fitness fabrics like polyester.<\/p>\n \u201cOur skin is our biggest organ, and having something close to your skin when you\u2019re sweating or moving, it\u2019s just really important to consider what you\u2019re putting on it,\u201d Dovey said.<\/p>\n She worked closely with a manufacturer to develop something that met her and her consumers\u2019 standards. The brand is manufactured and warehoused in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n \u201cThe fiber is 70 percent MicroModal, which is actually made from beech trees.\u2026Comparing it to the Heat Healer pieces, it\u2019s got this bouncy really breathable feeling to it,\u201d she said, noting that it does not feature the infrared yarn that the Heat Healer\u2019s offerings use, which supports temperature regulation, circulation and recovery.<\/p>\n According to Dovey, to provide wearable lymphatic drainage, Cean\u2019s products employ medical-grade graduated compression and micromassage via light pressure points in the fabric.<\/p>\n \u201c[The compression] is like a pump that is tighter at the ankles or tighter at your wrists or tighter at your extremities, and then it\u2019s pushing the fluid toward your lymph nodes.\u2026The second component is the micro massage,\u201d she said. \u201cWith those two things together, it\u2019s all basically lifting, supporting, sculpting, without restricting.\u201d<\/p>\n While Cean is launching with a variety of designs, Dovey has more in mind, including seasonal capsules.<\/p>\n \u201cThe sky is the limit with the pieces,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Sign up for WWD’s Newsletter<\/a>.
