A mobile mental health support hub is due to pop up in a number of Glasgow\u2019s most well-known locations.<\/p>\n
Two weeks before The Nook in Glasgow opens its doors, Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH) is bringing the support hub to several other locations.<\/p>\n
The mobile hub, named The Wee Nook, will be appearing in various locations over the next two weeks, including St Enoch Centre on Thursday. It will give the public an idea of what The Nook has to offer.<\/p>\n
Shoppers and passers-by will have the chance to hear about the mental health support available to them, and visitors will be able to tour the mobile hub.<\/p>\n
It comes ahead of the launch of The Nook, which is set to take place on Thursday October 23.<\/p>\n
The hub is available for walk-ins and appointments and referrals are not necessary.<\/p>\n
Other areas the mobile hub is due to visit include Hampden park on Sunday, and at Central Station on Wednesday October 15.<\/p>\n
Ewan Hay, The Nook\u2019s service manager, said: \u201cWe\u2019re really excited to be opening The Nook and finally offering the free and easily accessible mental health support so many people need.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith just two weeks to go until this transformational hub opens its doors, we wanted to take The Nook on tour. Giving Glaswegians a special preview of the full range of walk-in support available from our Wilson Street home, the Wee Nook will show just how easy it will be to step inside, feel welcome, and get the support they need, when they need it.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re visiting some of the busiest venues in the city, providing information on exactly what\u2019s available and making sure everyone knows help is just around the corner.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Nook in Glasgow will be the first in SAMH\u2019s planned national network of mental health support hubs, with others planned in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverclyde and Lanarkshire.<\/p>\n
