{"id":200380,"date":"2025-10-09T15:04:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T15:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/200380\/"},"modified":"2025-10-09T15:04:08","modified_gmt":"2025-10-09T15:04:08","slug":"sws-money-health-top-sources-of-filipinos-big-stress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/200380\/","title":{"rendered":"SWS: Money, health top sources of Filipinos &#8216;big stress&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Around 34% of Filipinos experience stress &#8220;frequently,&#8221; mostly related to finances, health, job or school, and family, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As part of monitoring Filipinos\u2019 views on well-being, SWS tracked public attitudes toward stress factors, including one\u2019s financial situation, health, job\/school, and family, providing valuable insights into how they affect daily life and overall mental health,&#8221; said SWS, which released the results ahead of the celebration of World Mental Health Day on October 10.<\/p>\n<p>The national survey, conducted from September 24-30, 2025, found that 34% of adult Filipinos experience stress frequently in their daily lives; 32% experience it sometimes; 30% rarely; and 4% never.<\/p>\n<p>The percentage of those who experience stress frequently (34%) was higher than the 27% reported in the December 2019 survey.<\/p>\n<p>The survey also found 53% experiencing big (21% very big and 32% somewhat big) stress related to finances, 42% to health, 39% to job\/school, and 38% to family.<\/p>\n<p>The Third Quarter 2025 Social Weather Survey used face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide: 300 in Metro Manila, 600 in Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), and 300 each in the Visayas and Mindanao. The sampling error margins are \u00b13% for national percentages, \u00b14% for Balance Luzon, and \u00b16% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.<\/p>\n<p>The survey was non-commissioned.<\/p>\n<p>Metro Manila residents, women are most stressed<\/p>\n<p>According to the survey, Metro Manila residents reported feeling stressed frequently (50%), compared to those in Balance Luzon (36%), Mindanao (28%), and the Visayas (26%).<\/p>\n<p>Women (41%) also experience stress frequently compared to men (27%).<\/p>\n<p>Compared to December 2019, the experience of\u00a0frequent\u00a0stress rose by 8 points from 33% among women, and by 7 points from 20% among men, SWS added.<\/p>\n<p>On the magnitude of stress related to\u00a0one\u2019s financial situation, the survey firm reported that 53% considered it\u00a0big\u00a0(21%\u00a0very big\u00a0and 32%\u00a0somewhat big), and 37% considered it\u00a0small\u00a0(26%\u00a0small\u00a0and 11%\u00a0almost none). Ten percent were\u00a0undecided\u00a0on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>On stress related to one\u2019s health,\u00a042% considered it\u00a0big\u00a0(15%\u00a0very big\u00a0and 27%\u00a0somewhat big), and 46% considered it\u00a0small\u00a0(28%\u00a0small\u00a0and 18%\u00a0almost none).
