Forward Jonathan Toews participated in the team\u2019s morning skate as the Jets get ready to open their season against the Winnipeg Jets, according to team reporter Mitchell Clinton.<\/p>\n
Toews, 37, \u201ctweaked something\u201d during the team\u2019s 3-2 pre-season loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sept. 30 and his availability for the season opener was in question.<\/p>\n
The 6-foot-2 centre skated on the second line with Gustav Nyquist and Nikita Chibrikov.<\/p>\n
Toews, a Winnipeg native, joined the club in the off-season after missing two seasons due to health issues.<\/p>\n
