He said YouTube is a video-watching platform, “not a social network where people go to catch up with friends”.

The other tech companies did not respond to Euronews Next’s requests for comment.

The cases come amid growing concern worldwide over the impact of social media on young people. Earlier this week, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen proposed a ban on social media for children under age 15, echoing calls from other European countries.

Updated 9 October: This story has been updated to include comment from Google.

Published on 09/10/2025 – 11:11 GMT+2 •Updated 13:24 ADVERTISEMENT New York City filed a fresh lawsuit against social…

[35
49,48,2770,2096,84,393,394,1942,1059
0":"post-200649","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mental-health","8":"tag-ca","9":"tag-canada","10":"tag-children","11":"tag-facebook","12":"tag-health","13":"tag-mental-health","14":"tag-mentalhealth","15":"tag-social-media","16":"tag-tiktok
["GET
