VESTAL, N.Y. – Binghamton women’s soccer (8-1-3, 3-0-1 America East) begins the second half of conference play when the Bearcats travel to Lowell to face UMass Lowell (4-4-3, 1-1-1 AE) Sunday. The teams meet at 1 p.m. at Cushing Field.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Binghamton is riding a nine-game unbeaten streak, which is tied for the second-longest in the nation, behind only Bowling Green (11 games). The Bearcats are 6-0-3 during that stretch, which continued with a 2-1 home win over Maine last Sunday. Binghamton has four games remaining in the regular season and is making a run at the program’s third regular season title in the last four years. The Bearcats have already exceeded last season’s win total and with just one defeat, have a chance to orchestrate a record-setting season win percentage.<\/p>\n

Sophomore forward Jahkaya Davis<\/a> ranks seventh in the nation with four game-winning goals and she continues to lead the entire America East in goals per game (8, 0.58\/game). She ranks second in points per game (16, 1.33\/game). Junior forward Paige Luke<\/a> has a conference-best six assists and 14 points and 11 different Bearcats\u00a0have registered points.\u00a0<\/p>\n

UMass Lowell is coming off a 1-0 road defeat last Sunday at New Hampshire. Before that, the River Hawks tied NJIT and beat UMBC (1-0) to open league play. Sophomore Gaby Eckroth leads the team with five goals and 10 points. The team has gone 3-1-1 since beginning the season with a tough non-conference slate and ensuing 1-3-2 record. UML was picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll after finishing fourth last year and falling in the semifinals to eventual champion Maine 2-0.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Binghamton leads the all-time series 9-4-2\u00a0but the teams have been dead-even over the last five encounters (2-2-1). Last season, the Bearcats\u00a0staked themselves to a 3-0 halftime cushion on Senior Day before the River Hawks responded with a three-goal\u00a0second half to forge the tie. UML got the equalizer with just 2:37 left.\u00a0\u00a0
